Something Old, Something Borrowed
August 9, 2000 @ 6:37 pm | So Sayeth Da Kaml

Well, after about three days of frustrating figuring out, I have finally mastered this whole blogger thing. I must say, I never thought I would give up my scribble.nu journal, but I can dig this whole thing….once I figure it ALL out. Thanks so much Sara Jenkins. I am going to move my posts from scribble here just so that I don’t have to type them all over. I have some things to talk about today, but I will wait ’till later. Here are my other posts from Scribble.nu:

8-9-00 Blogger Woes & Friends

Well, I attempted to try this Blogger thing that Sara has and found it to be completely frustrating and confusing. Besides, I would have to give up this lovely lime green motif, and I just cannot have that. Sometimes I think I am the most technologically retarded person despite all the things I can do. I need to buy my own domain ASAP because geocities is a pain in my ass. On a good note, I was accepted as a counselor for an online teen advice site and am waiting to hear about my Safe Zone counseling at USF. That, I am looking forward to. Never got to have my “talk” yesterday with the EDBQ, but I guess that is good. My friend, who decided it was best we not be friends, comes back on Friday. Not sure if I can or will say anything. The whole situation confuses me and I feel like there is something more there than I am being told. I decided I want to add a flash intro to my site just to spice it up. We’ll see how that works out. For now, I am off to keep searching for the Bryce 4 program. 70 sites and all dead links. Lord help me…

8-6-00 My Best Friend’s Wedding

You know, I really hope I actually keep up with this thing seeing as how I can barely keep up with my normal journal. Well, yesterday was my best friend’s wedding. She was an absolute gorgeous and glowing bride. She wore the simplest of wedding dresses that was absolutely extravagant and little to no make-up. She is one of those that has natural beauty. It was kind of depressing. She married a close friend of mine from high school whose brother was my best friend at one point. It’s a whole circle of friendship to say the least. Her graduating class have kept such close contact with each other. Makes me feel old because almost all of them are married now. I consider them my kids since I have seen them grow since they were freshmen in high school. Seeing all of them again was a trip and somewhat depressing. I saw people I never thought I would see again. I found myself wishing that some of my friendships had never ended. It was a beautiful ceremony. I was honored to read something from First Corinthians for them. You know, I have preformed in over 40 shows and I have never felt nervous any time I went on stage, but on that day, my heart felt like it was going to leap out of my chest. I did not want to screw it up, and thank God, I didn’t. She left on her honeymoon today and already I miss her. I hope I don’t lose touch with her just because she is married. I have a feeling I won’t.

I had some wild dreams last night. Part of it was somewhat disturbing because I was trying to confront a friend who recently told me we couldn’t be friends anymore. I was struggling to try and get some answers from him. I have a feeling there is more there/here than was told me. I hate losing friends when the reason just isn’t good enough or makes sense. And something here does not make sense at all…

8-4-00 The Rehearsal and What Lies Beneath

Alright so I went to my best friend’s wedding rehearsal today. It was interesting to say the least. I always feel out of place at churches but this one was pretty cool. I loved the design and windows–seemed almost druidic/pagan and not Christian. I got to see some people I have not seen in a long, long, long time and it was uncomfortable to say the least but I got through it. I get to do a reading at their wedding, so I hope it all goes well. My friend Sara had a movie/dinner night tonight. We went to Johnny Rockets and gorged ourselves on some damn good food and then went to see What Lies Beneath. Overall it was a great idea for a movie but was way too damn long. The only good part was the ending which was preceded by inane plot elements. The freaky “surprise” moments accompanied by music got to be boring after a while because there were so many of them. But like I said, it was good just for the last 30 minutes of the movie.
