Well, I feel MUCH better today after 10 hours of sleep and some great medication. Still no clue what is wrong, but who cares, I am getting better.
My Cabaret audition went very well, although I do not remember much of it because I was so zoned out from being sick. I must have done well because I am called back on Thursday for the part I want.
And on a final funny note, cause my ass finna be tired and needs some sleep, I come home to the damn frogs yet AGAIN, but it’s even worse because one of the security lights in the stairwell is on the fritz so it is being all strobe lightish. So I am freaked out because the combination of the two reminds me the closing scenes in Aliens when Ripley goes back to the nest to get the little ratty girl. I was fearing for my life.

No, it’s not Rotunda and the Bitch Boy. It’s a plague much darker and evil. The FROGS. I should have known that moving to an apartment directly over the lake would bring problems from the critters. Crickets, I can stand. Ducks, are fine. But those DAMN frogs. They are so FREAKING loud. I have been up until 4:30 a.m. for the last four days. Granted, some of that is because I can’t seem to fall asleep, but those damned amphibians are not helping the cause at all. ARGH!!!!
On a lighter note, I am looking forward to spending another lovely week at the Florida State Thespian Conference. I am judging and presenting workshops again this year and chaperoning the drama kids I work with. It should all prove to be a VERY interesting weekend. And by intersting I mean: hyperemotional, juvenile, exhausting, interesting, banal, hackneyed, stressful, tiring……

I am living in some biblical farce. I come home after a surprise dinner that some friends gave me for my birthday and I drop something as I walk up the walkway. I bend down and there are HORDES of frogs just staring at me and all of a sudden a wail of frog croaks erupts around the lake. I can still hear them now. What next? Locusts?
So the birthday was not bad. Had some very pleasant surprises. It was a nice day. Next!!!!

Well, Side Show has finally opened. It was an ehxausting four week rehearsals and the show are shaping up to be the same. The fun part is finding new bruises, cuts and scratches when I come home. The latest, which happened at today’s matinee, is a VERY sore nose as a result of being whacked in the face, accidentally, by a thick bamboo stick. I love it when actors don’t pay attention on stage, that is, my fellow actors. I really like this cast, more so than any cast I have ever worked with, even tho it is frustrating sometimes feeling like I have to watch myself and what I say in front of the “professionals.” But I tell you what, I have never experience a love and commonality as I have with these people. Just make me even more resolute in the fact that I want and need to get to NY.
The quietness from the morons upstairs ended about four days ago and I finally broke and called the cops AGAIN tonight. He was not pleased when he came by and basically told me not to call again because people will make noise when they walk. I tried to explain that it was more than walking, but he just did not get it. Of course, how ironic that when he leaves, the noise stops.
So the frog debacle returned, except this time in the form of a cricket who would NOT shut up. I tried everything to silence the bugger and I think I managed to after four attempts ot sparying insecticides and cloroxing the soil. I told you I take my silence seriously
And on a final note…comps….yeah…in three weeks…studied? Nope. I….am…scared.

The frogs have returned! And I am not speaking of some kind of French invasion. They actually returned last night, but I was so exhausted that I just tuned them out. But tonight, they are back in full force. I have determined that they only start their tweetering and croaking on days when it rains and after 10:30 p.m. That is how psychotically obsessed I am with the damn little fuckers. On another note of what could be something disastrous, new neigbors have moved in to the left of me. On the other side of my bedroom wall. I wish I had enough money to live in a house or in an exclusive apartment place. I know I am picky about my surroundings, but dammit, I like SILENCE. You shoud see me in movie theatres. I can’t even stand the rustling of those damn popcorn bags.
So I am knee deep in getting ready for school. I need to finish these sites and my teaching stuff. And of course, I need to take my car back to Sears to see what the heck is going on with with my cd player. It’s a sign I tell you.
Just have to say that Jude Law is an amazing actor. Watching …Ripley, and the man is just good. Another good mark for the English and living in England!

Well, after a long, and I do mean LOOOOOOOOONG, day of rehearsing yesterday, which actually ended up being a lot of fun, I came home expecting to fight back the sounds of frogs. But miracle of miracles, no frog sounds at ALL!!! I was so elated, and I slept so peacefully and comfortably. Of course, I had to go back to school today and deal with the intellectually egotistical, but hey, ya can’t have everything. When I get home tonight, I’ll blog about my class, a VERY interesting situation.

So I watched a rerun of the first several episodes of Six Feet Under, and I REALLY like the show. Something about it really draws me in. Maybe it’s the dysfunctionality of the family and the realization that they are just a little worse off than mine?
Ok…frogs…officially over the little fuckers. Walked outside my door and little baby frogs ALL OVER the place. Normally, this would illicit an “awwww” from me. But this feels like a horror movie. I am fixin’ to get some ear plugs because I cannot go to sleep at night because of their incessant CROAKING and CHIRPING. BASTARDS!!!!!

Ok, I am all for nature and I love animals, but yesterday, I wanted to set off a fire bomb outside my apartment. Those FREAKING frogs and their mating calls. How long are those damn things in heat for!?!? From the minute I got home at 11:15 p.m. to the minute I think I finally fell asleep from exhaustion 3:30 a.m., they were moaning, croaking, chirping. I woke up several times throughout the evening/morning, and they were still at it. I am sooooooooooooooooo over them right now. On the bright side, I have the day off. YAY!!!!!
